The human experience is Harriet’s primary focus. She’s obsessed with the inner workings of individuals, which brings a lot of the work she does deeper into the question of ‘Why are we?’. Rooted in compassion, relationships and humour, Harriet creates for the people.

In the design world, Harriet is interested in commercial storytelling bridging that gap between brand and audience. During her down time she plays with experimental print and publishing, often working on a multitude of personal projects exploring those philosophical questions in comical ways.

It’s Nice That named Harriet in their Next Generation continued. She has also received a Yellow Pencil from D&AD for her creative campaign work and received multiple awards including recognition for her moving image work and use of illustration in design from the Institute of Designers in Ireland. Harriet thrives while problem solving.

“Irish creative and award-winning artist Harriet Yakub challenges the mundane every day with compelling perspectives that are equally tactile as they are emotional. Yakub’s strength lies in her ability to question the very ideals that make us human and provide an introspective response that imparts humour on the overlooked moments of existence.”

Outside of professional work, Harriet enjoys frequent cinema visits, exploring new cities and specialty coffee.
